A friend of mine used this app when she went to London; when she came back she was 100% satisfied with it, she told me her journey wouldnt have been that nice if she hadnt had this app. So, planning on using it whenever I can! Perfectly organized and useful :)
Its the best. 10/18/16 Update: Its still the best.
Extreme lag on iPhone 6s Plus in Hong Kong, Kowloon side after trying to load bus stops. Severe stuttering when moving between menus or sliding down after it loads all the information. Completely unusable until it gets fixed. Please fix how your map loads points.
Update: 10/21/2016 I just noticed that the Apple Watch interface is now working. And I like the interface style. It is pretty simplistic all on one screen. The top of the screen shows your destinations starting with your Home and Work addresses. Followed by your favorites. Then you can access all the Transit agencies just by using the Digital Crown to easily scroll up and down in the list. I dont know how it was fixed without an App update but I am glad it is working now. I wish the company would do a better job at responding to emails about bugs, etc. At the very least I would love to know that someone is actually reading the emails and at the very least looking into the issues. I think this app is the best of the bunch. I have tried 3-4 different apps. And this one does the best job at pulling up the Transit times for the right agencies. And it has other nice features that make Citymapper a well rounded app. To many great features to list all of them here.
I lived in New York City for a semester and I used this app for the subway. GoogleMaps is my other go-to, but I used CityMapper more then. I like that I can save my destinations and get directions easily. I have no lagging on my iPhone 6+, no issues.
Great fit trains and busses but AWFULNESS for walking directions at the start and end of journey. Compass will often flip mid walk showing youre now going the wrong way and its nearly impossible to zoom into see street names. Really shocking oversights. Disappointing.
So useful, use it all the time
I used to use Citymapper as my main transit app, but Ive given up on it. Apple Maps And Transit are so much better and easier to understand. Citymapper has many elements that could make for a good transit app, but its designers seem addicted to change for changes sake so you never know what your going to get with every new point release. How one accesses most used stops or stations changes constantly, as does the consistency and relevancy of information. Maybe it works better in some cities than others, but for New York its decidedly middle of the pack and just annoying. (Same goes for their annoying release notes where you have to dig through unfunny bloviating to figure it whats changed this time around.)
This looks like a decent app but has one huge flaw and is not feasible for my use. Im Seattle it is not aware that certain bus lines change numbers but are the same exact bus. For instance the 5 and the 21 are the same, but it tells me to get off the 5, walk one block and get on the 21 when really I should just be staying on the 5 that turns into the 21.
It is. Its 100% legit. Super easy to use. Theyve made a really good job understanding a persons needs when it comes to finding the best way to get somewhere. No doubt is te best transit app ever. Awesome!
Cant live without it. I live in London and need this. Mostly for the tube and busses. I like being able to see updates for the tube lines in the app. Its great to see bus stops near by and see where they are going. Soooo helpful to have so much in one app. I also use it when traveling, which is when I REALLY need it so Im always excited to see what cities are added! Every update just makes it so much better! Things I didnt even know I wanted, but I love now. **I wish other app developers were as great as these guys!!!**
If youre trying to find a route between places in the Washington D.C., Northern Virginia. And Maryland areas, this is the best app I have used to do so. It will plan your trip using different modes of transport, including bike share. It tells you how long it takes to get from point to point, including wait times on Metro. Keep up the great work on this!
It only has the big cities, doesnt help when you dont live in it. I have to vote for my city to be put on there.
If all you know is your destination and you want to get there on public transit, this is the app for you. Enter a location, and it provides everything you need to know to get there with multiple routes and methods, tells you how long it will take for each option, and lets you share all of that information with friends. Id give this app 10 stars if that were an option.
Probably even of the best apps with high level of uitility ever created!!!
Hello dear Please add iran in the app
Not my first trip to NYC but my first time navigating public transportation by myself. This app was spot on for subway, bus, Uber, and walking. Easy to follow and as long as you have a cell connection, tracks you in real time. A bit of a battery hog but well worth it.
This app helped tremendously in London! The navigation worked while in airplane mode. It wouldnt search a route but it would show where you were on the map and you could find the nearest tube! Huge help!
